The First Workshop on Pest Control in the Food Industry Held in Bishkek

19.09.2025

The company “Pest Control,” a franchise company of SPECSPEKTR in Kyrgyzstan, organized the first workshop dedicated to pressing issues of pest control in the food industry. The event became a unique platform for discussing modern standards, innovative solutions, and practical approaches to pest management.

Key Topics Covered at the Workshop

The workshop brought together industry experts who discussed how modern pest control technologies enhance safety, comfort, and hygiene in food enterprises. In particular, the following topics were presented:

  • Electric insect traps with adhesive screens — an effective solution for protecting against flies, mosquitoes, wasps, moths, and other pests. These devices ensure hygienic insect capture without the risk of product contamination, comply with HACCP standards, and are suitable for restaurants, cafes, hotels, warehouses, and production facilities.
  • Organizing an effective pest control system — as an essential element of product safety, compliance with standards, and reputation preservation. The system is based on the principles of IPM (Integrated Pest Management) and includes zoning of facilities, monitoring, preventive measures, documentation, staff training, and collaboration with contractors.
  • Bird control — as an important part of the pest control program. The presence of birds at food facilities poses a risk of microbiological contamination. European practices include the use of nets, barriers, ultrasonic and visual deterrents, as well as biological methods.

Workshop Results

The event became an important step in spreading advanced knowledge in the field of pest control in Kyrgyzstan. Participants received practical recommendations on implementing European innovative solutions, complying with international standards, and organizing a comprehensive approach to pest management.

The workshop in Bishkek confirmed that innovations, compliance with standards, and a systematic approach are key elements for ensuring safe and efficient food production.
