The press center of the Interfax-Ukraine news agency hosted a press conference on “Prospects for the Implementation of the European Pest Control System in Ukraine”, where Anna Kholostova, CEO of Spetsspector and President of the Public Union Pest Control Ukraine, delivered a keynote speech. The discussion was also joined by Leonid Kozachenko, President of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation, Marc Aubry, President of the Confederation of European Pest Control Associations, and Vadym Chaikovskyi, Deputy Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.

Anna Kholostova spoke about the importance of integrating European standards into pest control, emphasizing that it is a systematic approach that covers all elements of pest control and their harmful activities, with a focus on protecting people, animals, plants and the environment. “Pest control is more than just pest control. It includes ecology, agriculture and food sectors, science, education, standardization and certification,” said Ms. Kholostova.
She emphasized that the term “pest management” is widely used in the world, which implies a rational, environmentally friendly approach to pest control based on minimizing risks to people and the environment. Associations play an important role in the European regulatory system in this area, controlling the activities of companies, issuing permits and certifying specialists. Therefore, each company must use an integrated system that reduces the use of chemicals and reduces treatment to preventive measures.
